Re: Talent identification
Thanks Tom! You are right, he is pulling with his top arm. That is one of the reasons he stops the rotation. Altius pointed at the late pole drop and low left arm - which, among, has a negative effect on the top end. We have had a few sessions, after the competition, focusing on the issues mentioned...

Re: First (big) indoor meet 2013
Thanks Tom and Alan! Happy new year to you as well Thank you very much for constructive and good feedback. Tom: I will take notice regarding the bottom hand during the plant. Talent identification
Hi all! I just want to share this with you: I have been a pv-coach for a couple of years now, and some of my athletes have had quite good progress. Today a new guy wanted to try pole vaulting. He is eighteen years old, about 1.80 cm, 75 kgs and a former gymnast. Quite fast as well. You can say a lot...

Odd has only competed once since my last post, and cleared 4.61 for a new PB. We have a couple of new poles ready for him, and I suspect we are going ...

Re: Still overstriding?
Thanks for the advice, Altius. Pretty sure I suffer from that fact, yes.. I'll try to adjust the goals in relation to his potential, focus on basic skills and do not push grip height so that it goes beyond security and that he can risk injury.
