Pole Shipping
Anyone else shipping poles to the Summit? We are flying United with a united express connection, so they won't take the poles, and I've looked into shipping options, but keep striking out. Anyone have any luck with shipping in the past? If so - who did you use?

It is extremely embarrassing how grown men act on this forum. I think this thread has probably run its course.

Re: Labels for UCS and Gill (Pacer, Skypole, Mystic) Poles
I didn't want to create a whole new thread for this question. Can anyone who has obtained new labels from Gill tell me the approximate amount of time to get the new labels? I am debating whether I should bother due to the timing at this point in the season. Is it a relatively quick process?

So bar should be going up to 4.35m. Good competition! Could be a "meatgrinder" for Sutej though, not sure if she'll have fresh enough legs for another CR
Excellent use of the term "meatgrinder."
Thanks for the great updates!

Virginia AAA State Meet - Pillow 16', Overstreet, 13'1.5
Chris Pillow and Cameron Overstreet, both of Atlee High School, in Mechanicsville, Virginia, won the AAA Virginia State meet titles in the boy's and girl's vault today. Pillow cleared 16' for the win, and Cameron jumped 12'8, and 13', before clearing 4 meters. Today's performance begs the question: ...

Re: Typical HS pettiness
First, Rule 7-5-16 has been deleted and replaced with new guidelines for the warm-up of pole vault competitors who have passed three consecutive heights and not entered the competition. Those competitors are now allowed two minutes of warm-up jumps per competitor entering at that height. These comp...

Re: College Meets Cancelled because of irrational swine flu fear
I think the University of Delaware has actually had cases of swine flu in their athletic program --- which is probably the reason for the cancellation. I noticed they have canceled some baseball games too.

This is a really exciting idea. It really sounds like they are trying to do it RIGHT. You only really get one shot at trying to make this successful, so I really hope it takes off (no pun intended).
