LPVG, There are hundreds of drills, excercises and workouts you can do without putting added stress on your athletes legs and joints. Obviously nothing will compare to actually vaulting, but many gymnastics drills will keep them in the right state of mind as well as refine many other aspects of the ...

One last question regarding the use of this ramp... I thought I might have it figured out that you place the ramp sloping down toward the plant box. Then after I thought about it, with also thinking about the idea of using a spring board... would you place the ramp the other direction? in other word...

Re: Ramp
gbob, the ramp we were talking about is about 2 ft in width and about 3' or so in length (agapit will most assuradly convert these lengths to metric). It is light enough to pick up and move off the runway. With the thickness of the 3/4 inch plywood substructure and the mondo topping the shallow end...

Ramps...
In the topic: "Pole Vault-Technique-Tap" both Ladyvolscoach and Agapit were discussing the Ramp that agapit built and used and volscoach currently uses... I have a few questions regarding this. I hope those two might be able to share some information on this ramp they use(d). I like the ramp too... ...

Altius... Both you and Agapit have been a much appreciated addition to this forum. As you said, this is a democracy and we can chose to listen and chose to ignore... I think this is the beauty of this forum, we can disagree and still learn. I hope you will stick around as I enjoy very much what you ...

Re: Mall Vault
There was one at the Mall of America in Minnesota back in 1996. I had the opportunity to vault at that Mall of America- Mega mall- "mega vault" in 96... Being that I have never vaulted at the Vault Summit, it was the largest crowed I have ever vaulted in front of. It became an "exhibition" instead ...

I don't count yet (because I haven't vaulted yet) but I'm in Minnesota. At 53 I too am getting tired of the cold weather and the lack of vaultin' and motorcyclin' time. But, as long as my two kids insist on living up here I'm not going to move. It's funny, but when I have moved away for any period ...

I would have to respectfully disagree with the idea that spotting would encourage more risk taking. The idea that the spotter is there is one of a "last resort" to what could possibly amount to saving a life. Similarly, does the concept of a larger landing zone inspire more risk? Does the addition o...
