Thanks for the good discussion on this topic guys. Seems like I should just make sure I'm vaulting correctly and that will allow my pole transitions to happen. It looks like a tall takeoff while being on my mark for takeoff and getting that smooth swing phase is what I need.

Mine is from collapsing my bottom arm hard like I said, and when im close to the pole it tends to show up so its almost a good sign showing your collapsing that arm well and getting close to the pole quickly.

No that is not what I mean - but sorry I cant go through all of this again - it has been dealt with again and again on Pvp - and if I take time to tell you exactly what should happen it will only take us on to the next step and the next etc. It really would be easier for you to get the book from Be...

It's a sign that you're getting connected well on a soft pole. Buy a forearm pad and you'll be fine. I wouldn't say its on a soft pole I get one on the poles I use on a regular basis, I think it has to do with how hard you are collapsing your bottom arm, I always have one going on while vault seaso...

Just to bring some life into a slow period I will state that stubby drills of the kind you mention are a waste of space and time. ;) Hehe, I figure they could help him feel what muscles are being used when he is extending his body at invert and feel how the hips move forward and shoulder dr...

I suspect that you are quicker than both of them but that your plant and take off are not as good as you think. I think you hit it right on, I usually am taking off about 6 inches inside and my plant could probably be taller at takeoff, is there anything I could think about that will help me be tal...

Re: To lose weight or to gain muscle, that is the question.

So my question is, for vaulters, is it better to be really light or to be really strong because theres a girl who vaults at my club whos 14 years old and tiny and she fly's above the bar with total ease, or is it better to have more muscle, because I feel heavy when i jump, like it requires all thi...

In terms of getting on bigger poles, if you don’t need to get on bigger poles then you don’t need to. There is no sense in grabbing more fiberglass just because it's there. Just because you have the biggest pole on the runway doesn't mean you're going to vault high. Well, basically the reason I...

Core strength is definitely a great thing to have, but basically what I think about when my feet are at my top hand is to just pull with that top hand (*note* READ BELOW POST) keeping it close to your body and in return your shoulder will drop and as long as you are collapsing your bottom arm correc...

im getting no "pop" and i think its because of this not staying with the pole? Well in order to get "pop" or fly away, you need to be in the invert position as your pole begins it's recoil, if your on a pole thats 40lbs over your weight you should most definitely be getting some...
