Hey Eric, No problem, feel free to ask any questions and I'll try to answer. My brother is doing well. He's currently taking some time off school and has just recently recovered from various injuries and is starting to vault again. Yeah, I have the school records at UVa, I think it's 12'5.5 indoor a...

Hey guys, just to set the record straight, my dad was not offered the option to be a volunteer coach. The head coach indeed wanted a coach who would also do other events besides pole vault. My dad was a volunteer coach for most of his time at UVA and he really wanted to finish coaching the kids, how...

pole vault in nyc?

I graduated and moved to NYC and now I miss jumping like crazy. Does anyone know if there is a place here where I could jump? I think that once all my injuries from college are healed I would like to start training seriously again. Any suggestions?

Your height and size should not be a problem, i'm 5'3 and 105lbs, and I'm a college vaulter. Technique is most important but so is strength. I lift 3-4 times a week, but if you can't do that, then start with pushups and handstand pushups, those help tremendously as well. Good Luck!

I weigh 105 (obviously a tiny girl) and I was on a 12' 140, but I'm now on a 13' 130 holding down and blowing through, trying to either get a 13' 140 or move to the 13'6 poles we have. you think I should move up in weight or length?
