Re: Use of raised runway for outdoor track (SC)
I now build and ship my runways around the country. My runways are made to be outdoors 24/7 just like my backyard runway. I use marine plywood, pressure treated wood and all stainless steel hardware. I had my original design buried in the ground for 2 years and it was still in perfect shape. Had it ...

Re: Sand pit or landing pad Jagodins
Jagodins or what I call "Take Off Drills" are absolutely essential for every level of vaulter at every training phase. The pole vault is 90% Run, Plant, Jump(Take-Off). Everything after that is actually pretty easy. Yes, you need to train a straight trail leg swing, but Jagodins are the tr...

MitchellPro Runways
Hi All, I posted pics awhile back of my original raised pole vault runway I designed in 2009. I'm an Penn State Engineer (Electrical) still working for IBM designing digital microchips, but my passion lies in pole vaulting and coaching it, like many of you. That said, my original plan was to sell pl...

Re: Kurtis Maschall - Aus
Wow! I haven't seen overall technique that solid in a young vaulter (Kurtis Marschall) ever. His approach run mechanics are incredible. So great to see the Petrov/Bubka model done so well in a young athlete. Love it! He's going to blow up big!

Complete UCS Setup and Extras For Sale
Here's pics of the full UCS PV setup I have for sale for $9,000.00 . The pit is approximately 12 years old. It's in great condition and was only ever used indoors except for the pics I have where I ran a special event. I got the pit from the University of Vermont. The only reason I'm selling this be...

Re: Lifting weather cover to prevent pool
I built a "light weight" pyramid out of wood that I use on my old UCS pit and it's worked perfectly. One person can move it. The key is "light weight" so you aren't making the foam compression/degradation worse. Hurdles are way too heavy. I've seen it. The truss system looks awes...

Re: Differences in Pole Brands?
Small correction to UCS Spirit. All of their poles are E-Glass until your reach 14' 7's at around 175 or so. After that, they go to S-Glass. I've requested some lighter 14' 7's in S-Glass and paid a premium. Overall, doesn't matter that much below 14' 7's, but would still be nice if they offered it....

Re: Pole Vault Box installed in Gym Floor.
I can build you the ultimate raised runway if you decide to go that route. I assembled this runway and setup and tore down our club pit and standards every practice for 2 years. Honestly, the runway setup and tear down was the easiest part. http://www.mansfieldathletics.com/pole_vaulting/ultimate_po...

Re: Vince Anderson Acceleration Ladders/Charts
Honestly, I haven't used Vince's chart I have. I got it to compare to yours DJ. They are very close in comparison. I forget where most of the deviations were, but they were both similar. I actually use DJ's chart for pole runs with mini hurdles to train athletes that have poor sprint mechanics. Noth...

You have to buy the charts through him directly. I bought mine from him about 4 years ago for $60.00.
