Seattle Academy Vault Coach
From Gavin Tucker: We just had our PV Coach have to back out of coaching our vaulters at Seattle Academy this spring...which started today. Re: USATF Indoors - Are the fields too big?
A set field size of a reasonable number would be great. What is a reasonable number? Maybe 12. Knowing your fate a week out from the meet would be ideal and save a lot of stress. And no more picking random people to be in the field, because they used to be good or they have charisma.

Re: US Agent offering cash incentive for elite male vaulters
I have been reading through the reply of this thread and I feel I should chip in. I am not sure who all has posted, but I would like to give some perspective as a current US vaulter trying to reach the next level. My name is Levi Keller and my lifetime goal in the pole vault was to jump 18' and comp...

Re: Vaulters with the Olymipic A and B standard
They won't send a "B" standard athlete even if they win, if there are 3 "A" standard athletes in the final. Here is a link to the athlete selection procedures, with examples of different scenarios on the last few pages. Scenario 3 shows this well. http://www.usatf.org/events/2012...

Re: Hooker is back! 5.72 in Perth
Looked like 18 steps to me.
Indoors, so no tailwind.
Anyone else notice he stuck with the change and is jumping on UCS poles? Sweet.

Yeah, I think it is tough to step it up when you pull your hamstring on the first jump. (...quick to listen, slow to speak...)

Re: Final USA 2011 Rankings
Looks like the list omitted the marks for Jason Colwick and Paul Litchfield. Both jumped 5.51m which puts them ahead of Victor Weirich.

Re: USATF Officials comment on NCAA PV Helmet Rule
http://www.ncaapublications.com/productdownloads/TF12.pdf Page 42, Section 6, Article 6 Looks like helmets certified by the ASTM standard are only "recommended". Better print this out if you have vaulters wearing helmets, because an official will probably say something about it and you nee...

Re: Vaulters Large & Small
I think the heaviest man should be updated too, Darren Niedermeyer weighs around 220lbs and has jumped 5.71m. He is the heaviest pole vaulter I have met.
