The state meet results in Texas are deceiving, usually a kid will jump much higher at regionals in order to qualify, than what they end up jumping (at least for 5A). The pressure at regionals creates a unique situation, as it pushes a number of vaulters in the middle of the pack to rise to the occas...

Yeah, it almost always takes 15" or 15'6" for the 5A division in Texas...

thanks guys but there are some problems What should I use? the pole i use is a 13' 130 and the next thing i have is a 14' 150 (old and stiff) then a year old 13' 155 skypole, which are softer. The 13' 155... The box here is a little different deeper i think and i get way more bend here than anywher...

left arm? the biggest problem was that on both jumps he was under by at least half a foot... yes, if you are under, a straight left arm artificially keeps the trail leg back and reduces pressure to the lower back, but this wastes energy by reducing velocity. it's not a great loss, but in the long ru...

not quite...

Your pole is way too soft, so no matter how much you try to invert or pull, your body will never encounter enough resistance to get you on top of the pole. Maybe if you went slower, but that's not a fix, lol!
