Re: Please help me PR! Practice jumps.

My coach doesn't really tell me to go from 4 lefts, I just do it on days before meets when I don't want to get too tired. Sorry I don't have good quality videos of my longer vaults. I'll get some soon. I agree with what you say about my run...my posture and takeoff have caused a lot of inconsistency...

Re: Please help me PR! Practice jumps.

hey, thanks for the reply! I kinda see what you mean. My flexibility (hip flexor mainly) is not so good, so during the takeoff my trail leg bends, but doesn't go slack. I just concentrate on keeping long and fast through the chord. Is this detrimental?

Please help me PR! Practice jumps.

Hi, I'm a senior in high school. I really need help pr'ing. I'm stuck and I really want to get 14+ my last season. Anyways, here is some practice video. 4 lefts ( 54' I think?) 5'5", 125-130 lb on a 13' 145 heights are at 13', 14', and 15' (I'm usually on a 14' 150-155 at meets) The errors I se...

Re: NEED TO PR!!!-High School Vaulter

oh yeah, I forgot to add. The second vaulter is about 5'9" and 145 lb. He is on a 15' 170 Spirit. He's the one with the black hair. What we know about him now is that he runs a little low (but he's still really fast), and needs work on his swing as well. Again, any advice would be really apprec...

Re: NEED TO PR!!!-High School Vaulter

EDillPV has a lot of potential. He ran a 4.7 40m this year. Anyways I'm his teammate and here is some updated video in much better quality. He is the vaulter with the short hair. We know that his plant/takeoff was pretty late and bad that day, which the rest of his vault suffer. We're going to be wo...

Re: Before I start vaulting again...

Hey thanks for the reply. Ok, I agree that my trail leg is flimsy and I'm under, necessitating a "tuck and shoot." I am working on that. However, you said two more things: that I was blocking and I kept my head down. First of all, how could you tell if I was blocking? From what I saw and f...

Re: New to the Bay area

sorry for not responding that quickly I'm not really familiar with the vault scene in San Jose/Mountain View. To find a convient vault facility you would probably need to call up the high schools or universities around your area, asking about their availability. I have heard of high school athletes ...

Re: New to the Bay area

It really depends on where exactly you are moving to and how far you will be willing to drive. Here's a link to all the USATF registered clubs in the Pacific area: http://www.usatf.org/clubs/search/info.asp?associationNumber=38 . If you plan to live around my area (San Francisco), I have found that ...

In San Francisco it's pretty moderate, with not too much wind on most days. Heat is never a problem here.
