Re: Old (but not used) vault poles
Perfect, awesome to hear! I will make sure to look them all over before using them. Of what I saw the first time we went through them quickly I didn't think they were ever opened or anything.

Old (but not used) vault poles
So I was helping my old high school coach go through some storage areas in the school since they are remodeling soon, and we came across a number of old pole vault poles still new in the original tubes and all. Looks like they were bought years ago and never taken out to be used. From a label it loo...

Not enough rotation on top of jump, any tips?
I started vaulting again this past summer after close to 2 years without practice. Changed some things on form etc and have been vaulting all indoor. I noticed this weekend that I have been getting stuck per say at the top of my vault, as in I do not get enough rotation over I am over the bar. I put...

Re: First meet back, 14'6" clearance.
Also for reference, the 13'6" jump is on a 14'7" 170 holding around 12'9". The 14'6" jump is on a 15' 165 holding around 13'. Both runs are from 6 lefts.

First meet back, 14'6" clearance.
Video is of the final height and one middle height I cleared at a meet this weekend. It's the first time I have competed in about 1.5 years. I finished jumping seriously about 2.5 years ago after college, and have jumped a little here and there since. This meet is after 2 weeks of vault practice, an...

Re: 2010 Summer Meets
I will almost definitely be at each of the Sunday meets at Oxford. I will have a 14'175, 14'7'' 155 and 160 and 15'160 with me. And cooleo, you can use them if they're in the weight range you're looking in.

South Padre Island Vault Locations
I will be located in South Padre Island this summer and am looking for a place to vault. Does anyone know of any clubs/other places that I would be able to jump some, and whether there are any open meets around the area. I don't mind having to drive around an hour or so, so anything relatively close...

Looking for a place to practice
Hey all,
Im spending the summer down in VA beach, and am looking for a place to compete/practice vaulting. I dont mind driving an hour or two to get there. Just seein if anyone knows of any open meets that run during the summer or any clubs/facilities that I might be able to practice at. Thanks.

Re: 14 ft from 5 lefts
I would have to agree with superpipe that you are blocking out. It is necessary to have a strong bottom arm but when you just lock out your arm in front of you, you are resisting yourself and taking away energy that you could be putting back into the pole. You can still put pressure on the pole with...

Re: Pole selection how to choose best pole.. HELP
When you say the 14' 135 you are on feel wrong, what do you mean? Are you able to bend it at all? Where do you usually grip? Either way, jumping down to a 12' 135 will probably not be enough pole for you. If you are looking for a 12' pole I would suggest going with at least 12' 145, if not higher. F...

Re: Peaking before season?
When you are doing your ladder workouts and such, are you going 90-100% or lighter. Our preseason and earlier in the season workouts involve a lot of distance and reps in them, very short breaks, but typically at 70-80% only. As we progress in the season we increase the percentage more and more, inc...

Re: 13'6 review
You being under may have been a result of making sure youre steps were okay with the wind, I also tend to overcompensate when I am jumping into a headwind. Are your steps typically under or just on that day? Also have you done any work with a penultimate step? Look it up if you do now know what it m...
