Re: 3-7 Training System - LoJo's injuries

Just wanted to follow up on a discussion about LoJo's injuries. LoJo was not injured every year from '92 on. His injuries, and reasons are as follows: 1994 - May - detached anterior ligament due to bad landing while attempting the American Record at a home meet in Knoxville, TN. 1997 - Hamstring Inj...

Re: Best technical vaulters

I believe Maxim Tarasov was the most efficient vaulter. His takeoff and inversion was probably the most efficient with multiple 6.0m vaults at much less speed and power as other 6.0m class vaulters. Must also add Huffman and Manson must be more than honorable mentions as had the best set up for thei...

I can appreciate that repetition is needed, and also agree that vaulting builds confidence. But changes, and improveents are not made on the runway, they are made by simplifing motor movements, and training responses. There is too much going on in a vault to concentrate on making changes to multiple...

Coaching Conflicts

I have not been coaching long, but can input some advice which was shared with me by a coach who has placed over 20 athletes on the US olympic team. "Coaches should not interfere with the training of athletes that aren't their own. I have seen athletes with poor coaching perform beyond expectat...
