Not to bring up any bad memories for a particular vaulter and family, but what does this legislation mean for athletes like Chase Sealy?

Possible? yes Probable? not likely What are some of your stats? 100m? Long jump? Attending camps was my biggest help. From the sound of it, i would invest in Beginner to Bubka. If you can understand the concepts Mr. Launder is spelling out, you would be on the right track(no pun intended). The last ...

clearing 10'

Don't worry about the pole right now. Get to a camp and work on technique. It would be expected of someone who is vaulting on a 14' pole to be jumping about 13'6" or higher

Not when the coaches blow it off :( . Too many coaches believe that they are experts at the sport as I am sure it is in other areas. The common sense information that would create safer vaulting is being ignored. That is why i'm helping my lil sibs out before i leave for college. Get them on the rig...

I remember agapit mentioning a drill that was different from a "rock-back" drill. A continuation or alteration of the pole climb drill? Would something along these lines be more appropriate? What kinds of drills do you recommend doing, Altius? There are plenty of vaulters here that wish to remedy th...

Most of these older guys on here have forgotten and relearned more than you currently know about vaulting. I suggest listening to them.

Apparently some of them know what they are talking about ;)

Is it bad that i only take 5 lefts at 79' and jump 15'. Im really fast with or without a pole and it seem if i move back, my speed would be useless because i couldn't control it. That doesn't seem quite possible to have a 5 left approach of 79'. Using DJ's chart, a 6 stride mark of 59' (2 left to h...

I know lots of girls with better plant technique, and this Isibajeva chick somehow gets over 4.90 or 4.92 interesting that the women who pull the worst with their bottom arm (Dragila & Isinbajeva) have been some of the most successful pioneers in the women's vault. Food for thought. Maybe this ...

hmm... A 15' 190? could be a good pole to add to my progression. Wonder when they get it in if they would share it with me if i make it back to state. Shane is a great technician, but his best is 14'6" currently. I would get that 15' mark before 15'6", Shane ;). Bellefontaine has always seemed to ha...
