Hello everyone, last Saturday I jumped at trinity college, 1st outdoor meet of the season. I was taking 6 steps, I weigh about 130, jumping on an 11'6" 140. I started at 7'6" (not on video), cleared everything one the 1st try, and then was out at 9'6". This is my first time jumping 9'...

I went to Hartford in CT. I'm the teams first real vaulter ha. practice situation isn't too great for indoor but it is supposed to get better next season.

I feel a little constricted with the massive amounts of layers, but really its not that bad. The spandex pants allow for an excellent range of motion in the legs, and as long as your top layer isn't too bulky you should be fine. Like a big sweat shirt is probably not the best choice.

How old is your friend's son, and what county are you in, I might be able to help you find someone. If you don't mind telling me what school district that would be even better! Of course it is always easier to get training in the summer, way more opportunities on long island when you can be outside....

get some nice gripped gloves. Biking gloves, rock climbing gloves, soccer goalie gloves etc. I have a nice pair that just has a little bit of gripping on the inside, keep my hands warm, and no, (maybe a little) slippage. Just wear layers, and keep your top layer as a windbreaker type material. 50deg...
