So this idea came to me that how come there are no pads in the box. You might say, "How do you expect to plant the pole?" Well this pad would not be in place as you plant the pole inside of the box but rather resting on the side skirt next to the box. Then as you planted it would be flippe...

So whilst still being relaxed as possible reach up as high as possible with both arms using the top arm as a fulcrum and the bottom for balance?

I am also confused on the whole left arm plant phase of the vault. I have heard it is supposed to be straight and tall, but you would still not want it to push, correct?

I have never actually looked at my pole carry but yes i do, and kirkb you are absolutely right about a forward lean at take off. My coach sometimes gets on me for that and i do feel like that i have to muscle to salvage the vault.

So, my problem here is that as I take my step back, my form goes to the toilet. I let my left arm collapse (right handed vaulter btw), tuck in, let the pole get ahead of me, and lower my torso and lengthen my strides during the approach.
