Pole Vault Scoring
I was hoping to get some opinions on a situation that has come up in our area regarding the scoring of a league meet. Today I was informed that our league meet(thats in less than two weeks away) is scoring the pole vault and only the pole vault differently than the past. Because there are only 4 and...

Re: Yes, another getting inverted post!
Here are a few more videos of drills. Focus this day was: LAND DEEP INTO PIT WHILE COLLAPSING BOTTOM ARM. Played a little with stretched trail leg(bent leg stretched and straight leg stretched). Lighter pole(on weight) 12 and 12'6 poles. https://www.coachseye.com/v/gtr3?utm_source=ios&utm_medium...

Pole Plant Rotation?
The question I'm trying to ask is: During the plant sequence, when the top hand on the pole transitions from your hip to over your head, what is the proper way the pole should rotate in your hands? I've vaulted and been told the top hand should never slip on the pole and the pole slips/rotates in th...

Re: Ruling?
This is at a State finals meet. 1st scenario was addressed to all girl vaulters not to land on their feet or bounce back on their back after landing on their feet first. The official kept warning the girl vaulters when they landed on their feet first, like there was going to be so kind of foul enfor...

Ruling?
IN HIGH SCHOOL COMPETITION 1)Is there any official ruling that a high school vaulter can NOT land on his/her feet first onto the pads or land with their feet first and then bounce back onto their backs? 2) Can an official tell a vaulter that he/she HAS to "jump" at take off? Example: If a ...

Re: Penetration!!! no jump!
I agree that his step is under on videos but he still doesn't move the pole when he's under, on or out. I also agree that his timing with his top hand does not move up with the timing of his jump. We try to work on pushing the poll up at take off and keep pushing up well into his drive. Sometimes it...

Penetration!!! no jump!
I have a vaulter thats having problems getting deep into the pit. He is fast, has a decent plant but can't get him to to hold higher than 13'3 on a pole that is at his own weight(14'-160 big bend). Tried getting him on a 13'7-170 altius holding 13'1 gets a little more penetration but pole moves so s...
