Hey I am very interested in learning how to pole vault, however I'm not sure if I am built for it. I am female 5'2 and weigh 100. I've just started track in the winter and was a sprinter. My biggest concern is that I do not have much muscle in my arms
. Will this be a big problem and if so can you tell me how I can build stronger muscles? THANKYOU SO MUCH!!

no, it shouldn't be a problem, polevaulting is great fun and if you have a desire to jump...... do it. find a good coach and you will do fine polevaulting is more technique than strength, good luck

Your height and size should not be a problem, i'm 5'3 and 105lbs, and I'm a college vaulter. Technique is most important but so is strength. I lift 3-4 times a week, but if you can't do that, then start with pushups and handstand pushups, those help tremendously as well. Good Luck!
Not really

Your strength doesnt pose a big problem but you should definetly get into a weight room on a consistent basis in order to do great things.
