Which pegs did they use at Golden West? They had NCAAs the day before, so I am assuming the pit was set up with the shorter pegs and rounded crossbar ends. Is that what the high schoolers used?

If so, that makes both national records that much more amazing!

Should keep that quiet. If you want to compete in any other venue IE world Jr's the mark will have had to meet the new rules not the US high school rules.

I thought they qualified for that by placing at Jr Nationals?

World Jr's go by IAAF rules = short pegs

Of course the qual procedures could avoid that requirement (maybe). We need an educated official in on this one.

Any help...............

Lets avoid the are they good bad thing on this one and stick to how and when the marks and pegs make a difference.

Instead of being square at the end, they are semicircular, so only 1 side is flat. They are a bigger pain to put up cuz you have to get it just right.

Man I hope the pegs were not the long ones for the mens comp. That would mean that Skippers jump could not count as a qualifier for the US Champs.

If they are taking marks from last year, all those were made on longer pegs... and I would be willing to bet that some of the marks made this year were on longer pegs (although no one will admit it).
