It just depends on where you want to go. You could probably jump 9 feet and get a little money at some of the schools in my conference, but would you really want to go to a school with a population of like 500 in a teeny town in the middle of nowhere in Iowa or Kansas?
Figure out what schools you want to attend for the all around package, not just which ones might throw you the most money. I have seen plenty of people go with the school that made them the best offer, and end up miserable because their coach sucked, they hated the school, they hated the town, they hated being far away from home, etc.
A pole vaulter is going to have a tough time at any school to get a big enough scholarship to make a huge difference. If money is truly an issue, there is a lot more financial aid to be applied for than you are likely to get in an athletic scholarship.
