Women's Track Coach Bob Maybouer Relieved of Duties
Directed women’s track and cross country team since 1985

YPSILANTI, Mich.- -Bob Maybouer, the head women’s track and cross country coach at Eastern Michigan University since 1985, has been relieved of his coaching duties, effective immediately, Interim Athletics Director Bob England announced today. A search for his successor will begin immediately.


Maybouer was named EMU’s head women’s track and cross country coach, Feb. 27, 1985. He led his women’s track teams to 22 Mid-American Conference titles in indoor and outdoor track and was named MAC Coach of the Year seven times in track and once in cross country. During his 21 years at the helm, Maybouer produced three NCAA champions: Mireilla Sankatsing, Savatheda Fynes, and Lela V. Nelson

maybe it was their terrible PV official. he was the most hypocritical person i have ever seen. last year at one of their meets, he called last jump and stood at the back of the line. after everyone was done, he let one of the female EMU jumper take TWO more jumps. then durring his little talk before comp, the same EMU lady that took to jumps after was bouncing to her ipod while he talked about no electronic devices in the competition area. then he made the men jump in pooring rain. the rain stands as my worst PV experience ever!

I'm sure the decision was not based on Mickey, the vault official. But I do agree that he really had it in for anyone not from EMU or that kissed up to him big time. I noticed many fishy things while competing against EMU, maybe the administration has had enough of the crap. Who knows?
