This is the first time Janson has vaulted over 14-4/4.37m during the indoor season since winning the NCAA Indoor title in 2003 with a school and conference record-breaking height of 14-7.25/4.45m (a victory over Becky Holliday and April Steiner, both who cleared 14-3.25/4.35).

Lacy's jumping awesome this year. She cleared 14'4" on a 14'7" 170 holding at about 13-6-ish. That was the first time she took one up on that pole and the first time this year a pole has stopped for her. She didn't have a great plant and she cut her swing short but she still gapped it by a foot. She's been working out alot of kinks this year and making progress one step at a time. There's no reason why she shouldn't jump 15, 15-6, and 16 feet this year. I'm really exited for her.

Janson and Johnson Net ACC League Honors
Redshirt senior Lacy Janson earns an ACC Co-Performer of the Week honor after top mark at the Tyson Invitational.

    Tallahassee, Fla. - Florida State redshirt senior Lacy Janson (Sarasota, Fla./Cardinal Mooney) and redshirt junior Garrett Johnson (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Baptist Academy) were named Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Performers of the Week for their achievements at the Tyson Invitational meet from Friday, February 10 to Saturday, February 11, 2006. Janson shared the honor with Miami's Tabia Charles while Johnson paired up with Virginia Tech's Brian Mondschein.

    Janson cleared 14' 4.0" (4.37m) in winning the women's pole vault competition at the Tyson Invitational. It is the senior's fourth automatic qualifying mark in the pole vault this season and her highest vault since capturing the 2003 indoor national title. The Sarasota, Fla., native recaptured the top spot in the nation with her performance over the weekend.
