John cleared 4.02 m on his 2nd attempt yesterday to break his own world and american record for M 60-65? at the Portland Masters Classic.
Dennis Phillips also had a good performance in the same age group, clearing 12' 4" and putting up some good shots at 12' 8."

John, you are great!! And very tough to keep up with. Last weekend I jumped 3.89 and attempted 4.01. Now I am glad I was unsuccessful. Way to go guy! See ya on the 11th in Oshkosh.

Thanks Tom, and thanks Art.
Art, I saw your 3.89 mark on the ranking web pages. Great job! You are obviously doing well. Keep it up and you'll likely get your share of records. It certainly helps when you get a friendly cross bar 'bounce'

Way to go John!
You're getting so close to your life time best. I do so hope it happens at Oshkosh!

Dang! John was standing right in front of me during the second national anthem Sunday but because I was in a hurry to get back to my camera I didn't have time to say hi. Had I know about the record, I would have at least said "Congratulations!"

Wilson, I'm very disappointed. Would have enjoyed a little conversation with you. I hope at least you got some good video or stills of the ladies. Were you there to see anyone in particular?

Actually, I think you mean my HS best. A few inches more may be possible. A foot plus a few inches more is highly unlikely.... but it sure would be nice.

I was working for Sports Sciences and was helping Peter McGinnis with his high-speed video project. That's why I had to get back to the camera. It wasn't an optional activity. I was only at the stairs on my way back from a hurried trip to the rest room.
Congrats again.
