From Nick Vogt at Gold Country Indoor Training Center:
Our loving thoughts and prayers remain with Velma Sinatra and her family, as they greive the loss of Coach Paul Sinatra.

Today, December 1, 2010, our world lost a most excellent friend, an elite athlete, exceptional pole vault coach, and encouraging mentor to hundreds of youg people. Paul Sinatra endured a 2-year battle against cancer on the horizonal runway on earth; but he vaulted victoriously into the heavens, easily clearing the bar of Eternal Life, and he has landed safely and peacefully into the arms of our loving heavenly Father.

:(

Paul really was an amazing coach. I loved the discussions we would have on coaching, vaulting, counseling, and life during dusky summer practices. Good to know he soared over his final bar with ease -- he did always have such great form.

What lousy news, It really hit me hard. Paul was truly one of the great ambassadors of our masters vault world, He was a great jumper and really a prince of a guy. We will miss him.

My heart and prayers go out to the Sinatra family. I remember when we used to jump together Southwestern Junior College in San Diego in the 80s. During that he went from barely a 15 footer to a 16 footer and jump 17’0” as a master. Paul always had a positive attitude with a smile on his face. He will be missed, but always be with us in spirit.

I did not know Paul, but this is the most beautiful eulogy any vaulter can get.
