Is anybody planning to go to Raleigh for the SE Masters meet at NC State? I'm planning to vault there. The last time that I vaulted at NC State was 1975 (That's where I set my PR... 13'10"...I'll be a little under that this time
). My mother lives in Raleigh, so I'm planning to visit mom and have a little fun jumping.
Hope to see you there.

Wish I could be there. We have our HS state meet that weekend, and my HS vaulters come before I do. That's why I don't jump in many meets.
I did sign up for the
www.WrightsvilleBeachVault.com two days ago. Will you be jumping there? It's a lot of fun for the whole family.

I think it would be fun to come to Wrightsville Beach but I don't think that I'll be able to swing it. The Summer schedule is beginning to fill up, and I think I'll have to skip that one.
Have fun.

Just remember - if you attend Master's Nationals - leave time for a trip to Champaign - I will set up tours of Gill's new place

Unfortunately, I'll have to pass on Decatur this year. My high school is having its 100 year anniversary that weekend. Yes, I did actually graduate high school.
I also have to pass on Raleigh. I'll be on a plane on the way to China that weekend. I'll be gone 2 weeks. There goes any thought of a serious outdoor season. Oh well - more beer at Earl's.

I'm planning on being in Decatur (M45). A tour of the Gill facility sounds like something I'll plan on.
It will be my first venture at any competition higher than local, and I look forward to meeting the people I've been reading about in the rankings, and maybe challenging them a little.

This turned out to be a fun meet with lots of nice people. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for low-key fun. Although it is technically a "masters" meet, they have a 20-29 age division too.
The only negative was that they had the pit turned around in the wrong direction. So we battled a persistent headwind and looked directly into the sun (the runway faced East the way that they had it set up). Several guys said that in previous years it had been set up un the opposite direction. Too bad nobody made that executive decision before we began. Oh well.
I managed 10-6 which is only 6" under my 2004 PR so I suppose that I shouldn't complain. As I said the people were great.
The world-famous Vince Struble (age 54 I think) appeared and vaulted 13-3. Later that day his nephew (Wells Struble) won the local Regional high school meet at 13-6. Vince invited everybody over for a cookout (because I had promised my mother to take her to a restaurant for Mother's Day I had to decline).
I hope to return to Raleigh to try this meet again.

Glad to hear Vince is back at it since his injury during indoors. Looking forward to seeing him next month at the
