A gold-medal event: Idaho State University grad Stacy Dragila, who won the first women's Olympic pole vault in 2000, inspired several hundred of us recently at the Saint Alphonsus Foundation "Laugh, Learn & Lunch," sponsored by the Women's Healthcare Fund.
Sally Long, ISU director of corporate giving, invited me to join her at the ISU table, which included Laura Vailas, the university's new "first lady;" Bessie Katsilometes, interim dean of academic programs for ISU-Boise; Lori Fisher, Albertson Foundation executive director; and Bev Harad, a Women's Healthcare Fund founder.

Before Stacy spoke, WHF chairwoman Jenifer Dellgard announced a $14,000 grant from the Komen Foundation to WHF's Secret Sisters Society. Its goal is to raise money for mammograms for women who can't afford them.

Stacy talked about goals, too.

"Whatever your passion is in life, you set your goals and you stick to it. Don't worry about the final outcome, just do whatever you need to do every day. Do it whether you want to or not, and at the end of the day, recall what went well."
