The future of United States female pole vaulting is in more than capable hands, and that’s with American record-holder Stacy Dragila on the sidelines.
Jenn Stuczynski of Rochester, N.Y., has taken the torch and is primed to make a run at Dragila’s American mark at tonight’s 12th annual Reebok Boston Indoor Games at the Reggie Lewis Center.
Ranked No. 6 in the world last year, the 24-year-old Stuczynski had the six best jumps by an American. She soared to a personal best of 15 feet, 5 inches last week at the USA Track & Field National Pole Vault Summit, just shy of Dragila’s record-holding 15-9 vault.
