Trials Info from Andreé Pickens

Hello everyone,
The Olympic Trials are well under way here in Eugene, OR and in a few days I will be competing in the prelims of the women’s pole vault, Thursday July 3rd and the finals will follow Sunday, July 6th.
The way the competition will work in the qualifying round, there will be 2 flights (2 pits) competing simultaneously. Opening height for prelims will be 4.10m / 13’5.25”, and progress upward by 10cm or a bout 4in. Top 12 marks will advance to the finals for an opportunity to make the Olympic Team. Opening height for the finals will be 4.20m / 13’9.25” and progress upward by 10cm or about 4in. Top 3 women will make the team.
