Stacy just jumped 4.83 in Ostrava, CZ to retake the world record. She is raising the bar to 16'! More details to come.

It is actually NOT a world record b/c this year the IAAF started allowing indoor WRs that are higher/longer/faster than outdoor WRs to count as The WR. So Isinbayeva's 4.86 from Budapest is still the WR.

AR - Record - believe the 4.86 indoors is recognized as World Record

so my question is does she still get a decent check for setting a world outdoor best?

A few years ago the IAAF changed it so that events that are contested both indoors & outdoors would have a single record. It's not clear whether to set the official WR for men and you're jumping outdoors if you'd have to jump 6.16 which would be superior to the indoor mark.
