Hey everyone.

I am putting on a pole vault competition/exhibition in my home town of Odessa, TX. It is going to be inside our mall on the ice rink.
It is a benefit to raise money and awareness for Multiple Sclerosis.

Heres who is jumping.....
Tim Mack---Olympic gold and record holder (of course)
Nick Hysong---Olympic gold, Sydney (of course)
Jeff Hartwig---american record holder and 1996 olympian (of course)
Myself

I will also have a few local kids jump. It is going to be a great day of loud music, pole vaulting and fun. I have talked to these guys and they are doing a great thing by helping out with this. I respect all of them tremendously. we have door prizes and gifts to give away and its going to be a blast to perform for my home town crowd

im attaching a flyer for the event and the number to call to get more information or donate to the cause.

the number is 1-888-999-7992.

I ask as a favor from everyone.....just spread the word about the event. even if we cant raise money, we can raise awareness for MS and the pole vault. if you have any questions about the event...email me at toby@tobystevenson.com

thanks everyone

Tobydude:

A couple of important questions:

1) When is it?

2) What is the mechanism by which the money will be raised? Admission fees? Sponsorships for each centimeter jumped for the day? Wagering on the outcome? Beer sales (my favorite)?

Best of luck!

Edit: Whoops, just saw the date on the flyer.

there are several ways we are raising money for the cause.

1)title sponsors

2) ticket sales-tickets range from $20-$100 they get you onto the ice rght next to the pit. general admission is free but you are outside the ice rink walls.

3) The MS society will be there with people collecting money as people stand around.

4) as we go, certain heights will have certain monetary values.

sorry but no beer sales...ha, maybe next time.

As a season ticket holder for the Stockton Thunder (ECHL), I say pad the ice real well . . .

Best of luck with the event!
