Holliday impressive on track with second in 400
For all the athletes who competed in "off events" at the Preview, few performances were more impressive than Becky Holliday's second-place finish in the 400.
Holliday, the Ducks' school record-holder in the pole vault (14-8), was clocked in 57.11 seconds. The former two-time all-American and 2003 NCAA champion trailed only Emily McMahon, who won in 56.05.
"I didn't remember how to get out of the blocks," Holliday said. "I was just trying to run hard."
She also placed sixth in the 200 in 25.63 seconds.
Holliday set an indoor pole vault PR of 14-5 this year, and she expects to make her outdoor debut in the pole vault at the Oregon Invitational in late April.
