gymnastics

im going to go with gymnastics. it helps a lot more. i do xc AND gymnastics though. the one thing is, if you choose xc, make sure you also do sprint workouts because distance running can slow down your sprint and screw with your stride. I know i go to my xc practice in the mornings and then in the afternoons or evenings (depending if we have two-a-days) i do some hill sprints or 200s

Include sprint mechanic drills in your workouts do keep your stride from becoming strange.

I was a level 9 competitive gymnast when i began vaulting and i think it helped a great deal. with gymnastics comes significant upper body strength, body control, air awareness, and well you can be afraid. I believe it helps with the mental game and just keeps you in shape. at the same time thou you have to be committed enough to practice things that gym won't cover such as running techniques, because lets face it..if you can't make it through the approach there is no vault.
