Torn Meniscus

So I tore the back part of the meniscus in my take-off leg about 3 months ago, and instad of going to the doctor I decided to finish up our football season without any kind of recovery except a lot of ice and ibuprofen. I finally went and got it checked out last week, and they said they wanted to do miniscopal surery and remove the small broken off piece of cartelage. Has anyone had this surgery, I recently healed from other injuries that almost made me want to quit pv (broken pinky, and cracked wrist, and some fun arthritis to go along with it) and want to start training hard again to get back into shape in January. There is basically no pain anymore unless I cut off of that knee hard, whitch I dont do in pv, and I can get atleast 15 full run jumps in before it hurts. Again I am just seeing if anyone has had any experiance with this injury, and if I have the surgery how long will I be out before it will be the same as it use to be.

Thanks

don't just think about this pole vaulting season, think about whether or not you want to walk when your 50. Personally, i've never had surgery because...i don't think i'll make it that far anyway, but you seem nice enough haha. Think about it, long-term though, that's my message. -6P

Good answer haha, but it's a surgery that can wait until after track, but I will have to work through minor pain.
