Well my coaches for track are now both football coaches. They changed the stretches to what football players do. I really don't feel the stretches at all doing those. Is it just me or are those stretches not really useful.
P.S. when i say football stretches im talking about stuff like squats and leg lifts and jumping up and down no actual try to touch your toes and hold it type stuff.

well it sounds like you're talking about plyometrics and workin out as opposed to stretching, big difference. i think they're focusing on strength/corresponding speed....stretching is important to do before working out, increase flexibility, prevent cramps, etc.....

Football and track are 2 totally different sports (my track coach actually said that), and that a lot of the football players were out of shape for track when their season was over, and the stretches are really different!

i just put down my beer, jog a lap, put in a dip, touch my toes a few times, run a strider or three and then we are ready to go!!

a guy i jumped with's warmup consisted of taking a dump and doing 4 pole runs. never got injured tho, so i have to give him some credit

I think the most important aspect to warming up is dropping the deuce.

Lol, Yeah our football guys can not keep with me on distance and I suck...on a fast day I post 5 miles in 45min....they can make it to the 1mile mark and go poot...taking a dump is good for your abs :X
