Individual training

Hello, i am a 16 year old high school student who, like everyone else, wants to get better at pole vaulting.
I am not very experienced, but i do have some experience - with a running coach however, so not a lot of actual technique or pole vault drills.
Now i have returned to my home country, Denmark, after a year in America, and i have gotten access to indoor track facilities, including a pole vault pit and poles, which i can use anytime i want and as much as i want.
I do have a coach, but i want to do extra training on my own (which he has recommended); the problem is that i don't have a whole lot of knowledge about pole vault drills and training in general.
That is why i would love some suggestions as to what drills and possibly entire training sessions i can do as a beginner; they should preferably be fairly simple and thoroughly explained, but i am open for any suggestions. I am 5'8 140 lbs and would consider myself as being in good shape - and i like physically demanding exercises and drills. A quick summary of what i have access to:
60m "tracks", hurdles, mini hurdles, ropes, rings, high bar (sometimes), the parallel bar-things, pole vault pit, poles, long jump pit, medicine balls and various other stuff
I am also open to suggestions on physical training programs (strength, core, speed) and basically anything else that could be beneficial.
I am looking forward to hearing form you guys, and thanks for any suggestions.

You've got yourself a pretty enviable situation there...

Alan Launder (altius on this board) has a book called Beginner to Bubka: and Isinbayeva Too! that is far and away the best resource for you to look into. Get the DVD too...

You can buy it in the "Store" section of this website.

Can't say i'm not satisfied with it - i'll try to get my hands on BTB, but i'd probably have to order it from the US... till then im still open to suggestions

When you say "high bar (sometimes)" what does that mean? How often can you be on the bar?

It means there is a high bar, but there may be other people using it or it may not be up, i would probably say i can use it 75+% of the time

I am currently in Denmark after picking up a pole while being an exchange student in the US
