Hi
what do you think about technique of isi ?
because in 2005, we can see that she can reach 5m10 (big margin in helsinki and london) !!!

BUT since she changed her technique and her coach she can't manage to reach 5m95. Her vaults are less higher, less beautiful, less easy
galfione said she lost a little her superb technique.

i wonder if it wasn't an error to change technique ?
and i would like to know your opinion about it

and also, in which parts she's better ?
The plant ? the take off ? The swing The row ? the extension ? etc

I think it's the swing and the extension
but my knownledge in pole vault is :(

to answer your question, yes. I think she has lost a little bit out of the middle pf the vault... which is causing things to work a little differently on top.

A somewhat prolonged discussion of this broke out over on the T&FN board after the Zurich GL meet:
I don't really have anything more to add at this point.

Thanks
very interresting even if i don't understang all :o

many people say that isinbayeva is not a bubka female ( perek, Sébastien levicq)
she's a great PV but not exceptional as bubka was in men

everybody knows that soon a lot of women will come up to 5m80 and a few 5m90-95.
i think it's because of these expectation yelena changed (and also because her old coach treat her like a child and was too possesive)
she knows, that one day, practice with a soft pole would limit her in her quest
as galfione said, you have no choice, il you want to go higher, you must use poles more tough.

If one day, she find that petrov's technique is not for her (each athletic is different). Is it easy to come back in her old technique ? or we must wait again two years ...

In the old non technical explaination: "Ya gotta dance with the one that brung ya"..............Isi's technique was set long ago......once a learned mechanics is ingrained...under PRESSURE.....that technique will ALWAYS emerge. Pressure......not competitive for Isi....but as she tries to jump higher her neuro-muscular learned technique will always emerge. Ergo, she better go back to her old coach or "she ain't dancin' anymore"!!!!!!

I don't know where put this old iterview (2005) of Boslak where she mention yelena :o
source sport24.com

my translate/résumé

Sport24 : you often meet Elena Isinbayeva. Do you learn something of somebody like her or yelena is too strong (another world) ?

Vanessa Boslak: It is true that she made five meters thus it is a small ditch which grows hollow. But, she’s not always on top. She’s just changed coach, perhaps she will modify some things, and that will take time before all is set up. She was in danger against Rogowska.

Do you impregnate all the same few things of Isinbayeva when you see her ?

I like her second part of vault. She reverse quickly and do a good job with her pole, as a man. Concerning her first phases (impulsion), Petrov is changing it, so I don’t look it (smile).

But after, in the management of competition, she doesn’t speak.
She is in her nook, she has her cap, and looks her feet. She just prepares when she must vault. I am not looking her during her preparation because frankly, I don't want to be like her. I prefer to continue to speach a little with the others, focus myself when it’s important. It is a pleasure, a game. After, each one has its way and I don’t want to change.
