Angelica Bengtsson from Sweden competes in Stockholm, in her third attempt she jumped a new world record for juniors 4.53 meter. She is still in the competition so final results will be posted soon.

And she nailed 4,58m!!! Technically, much better jumps than what she did on sunday. Still, it looks like she's on the low side, in terms of penetration. Looks like the standards are at 30-40 something (could be wrong). On one attempt on 4,53m, did she bail, and almost landed in the box.
It's also a swedish record.

Some facts about Angelica Bengtsson. She is born July 8, 1993, i.e, she is still just 17. She lives on a farm with her family (and yes, she has a backyard pit, however it is winter in Sweden several months a year). She is coached by her father.
She is a former gymnast, and still practice gymnastics twice a week.
Development:

15 year - 4,12
16 year - 4,37
17 year - 4,47 (outdoor) 4,63 (indoor) 22/2-2011.

No ! Her dad has never vaulted. He was a decent javelin thrower (60 something meter). However she has an older sister that has jumped 4 meter, and also a 11 year old sister that takes her step in competitions (she is following her to the European championship). So I guess we will hear more from the Bengtssons !
(Both the worlds best female and male junior comes from Sweden, 17 year old Melker Svärd-Jacobsson is on top of the boys list with 5.45). And don't forget that the Duplantis kids are half swedes as well!)
