World Rankings

I don't know if im just one page behind everyone else but I was looking at the Iaaf World rankings. It seems that they give more points depending on what meet your jumping in.
Ex Paul Burgess jumped 6 meters at the Perth Pole Vault Meeting, he got 1256 for the jump and 15 for the location and that equals 1271.
Then Tim Mack jumped 5.95 meters at the Olympic Games, he got 1229 for the jump and 300 for the location equals 1529.
I understand there is a lot more pressure and factors during the olymics compair To some small meet butthat seems a little weird.

Yes, the bonus points are allowcated according to what classification the meet receives from the iaaf (ex. GP, GPII, Super GP ect.) The points are awarded according to your placing within the meet.
The bigger the meet, the bigger the bonus pts. awarded. The idea behind this is to force you to try to jump high somewhere besides your backyard.

We can't make the rules, but we can always complain (to IAAF.org) about the bad ones!

To jump 5.95 in Olympuic Final is completely different than 6m in Perth with a huracane tail wind or any other small home competitions. I would say that it was easier for Tim to vault 6.01 in th GP Final than 5.95 at the Olympic final.
It is more important to win competitions that jump PR. So extra 300 pts for Olympic Gold is very fair. Go to Olympics and show who you are no BS.
