Bubka 6.11 meters

Hey, There is a new (well, new to the site) video of Sergey Bubka jumping 6.11 meters in 1992 at
http://www.Stabhochsprung.com. Its pretty good kinda yellowish, but check it out!

God, when I see him do it, it doesn't even seem remotely up at 6.11 meters.... It seems so far less because he does it with such ease.

now thats crazy height over 6.11 wonder why he only went 6.14 outdoors and 6.15 he looks to have like another foot in him?

I wonder why it took 2 years to get that extra 4cm. It looks as though he could have done it at this meet.

Could have been mental. But I doubt it, he never seemed like a mental jumper...more about the process.

It wasn't mental. He just never raised the bar much higher. He usually broke his world record one centimeter at a time. Eventually he got older and more injured and started to break down. He never cleared as high as he could of if he had been pushed or had chosen to attempt higher bars.

It makes you wonder what a little bit of competition would have done. And Hopefully Isinbayeva is young enough that the bar will continue to rise even without competition. Competition is a strange variable, and you wonder just how high bubka might have jumped with someone to reallly push him.
