I don't know if you know this, but Danny Ecker had a hernia(I think that's how you spell it) that he had surgery on just ten days prior to this competition!

ouch, from my limited experience with that surgery i would think, depending on the severity of the hernia it would be much more painful to compete after the surgery than before.

i had one of those repaired a few years ago and it hurt to sneeze for a few weeks
