Ancient Greek Long Jump

I know this is not a sport that has been contested in a few thousand years, but it is AWESOME none the less. Even though I hold out no rational hope for it ever coming back into fashion, it is still a great training exercise for explosive jumping power.
What it is: 5 consecutive broad jumps (kind of like the triple jump but 5 of them and all are two-footed rather than hopped or skipped)
Why do it: for one its a cool sport that uses pure plyometric power, for another thing it was good enough for classical civilization so why not for us? we do a version of discus, javelin, and obviously running events, why not this particular jumping event?
here are some vids if you just don't understand yet.

I am not very good...yet but I am working on getting out to 16m and beyond. When I am not Vaulting of course.
