@ the last meet of the season i was warming up and the first vault I took I broke the pole.
the pole was a 13-1 150lbs yet i only weigh 130lbs
what would this say about my vaulting or the pole itself? j/w
Also I need a place to train over the summer I live in Mason County WA

how old was the pole and was it spiked or have cracks in it?

umm let me check i have he pole right next to me
there are a few spike marks but nowhere near the the breaks and the original tape of the pole is somewhat missing so it might be old

well that might be the reason lol but i've vaulted on some pretty old poles with no prob so it might just be one of those once in a lifetime things

and at the same meet i jumped on a backup 13'6 140 carbon fiber pole so i knew i couldn't break that one

i wish our school would buy me a carbon lucky im surprised you still vaulted after breaking a pole it took me like a week to feel right vaulting after i broke my pole, but that might be because i landed in the box, i wasnt one of the lucky ones that land on the pads

i PR'd that day too only 10'6..
oh yeah I'm still injured from the pole snapping on my back it hit right along the edge of my left shoulder blade,
but i can jump back from most anything after a few minutes one of my teammates broke his pole and still jumped the same day. he has a scar from the pole jabbing into his chest lol...

I've been fortunate enough not to break one. Then again, a lot of people I talked to actually did way better after breaking one cause they felt more confident.
