maximizing the swing

1) I have so much left in my swing and i know it, but i cant seem to use it to full potential. I think that when i see the cross bar i stop swinging. I know i stop way to early and know i need to be more patient with the swing and keep going rather then drop right at the bar. Does anyone have any suggestions to how i could learn to be more patient and keep my swing going?
2.) also on my turn, i turn more out from the pole rather then up the pole. how can i fix this?
thanks

Tuck your chin in to your chest and keep your toes pulled toward you. For turning around the pole instead of over the cross bar that is.

hey
2 questions..
1. are you on your "MID" to grip from the chart .. or do you think you are stretching to takeoff?
2. what pole are you on?

1. i have never used the MID.. i used to sort of lean back at take off because i was trying to invert right off the ground, but i think i have fixed this problem. and i dont feel like im stretching
2. im a sophomore girl on a 12' 130 holding at 10'6, i dont really bend the pole yet though

Swinging better will add more energy to the pole, and make it bend more, dont worry about how much it bends at this point.
The simple answer would be to keep your hips moving up the entire vault. Dont stop just because you THINK you have enough speed to get over the bar, keep going and try to jump a foot over the bar by pushing your hips that high. You should put a bungee 1 foot over your PR in practice and work on keeping your hips moving your entire swing.
The answer might not be so simple, and could be the result of a problem with your take off like DJ is saying. Make sure you accelerate into the box and are not taking off under. if thats the problem, you cannot fix anything in your actual jump until you fix that.

dj is 100% correct. You can't fix your swing until you fix your run, plant, and take off. Without seeing any video, we can't say for sure.
