Tim, sounds like we are on the same page. In my example above the athlete could get on the 14-6 160 pretty much every day and jump near his best. But in cases where there is a tail wind or he is jazzed for the state meet he might get on the stiffer 14-6 poles.
I have been using this progression for all of my HS athletes for the last 5 years with good success. I like that you are always close to the top of the pole and the transitions are always even.
