Tito or lon someone explain that first crucial movement at take-off. This might be uncovering secrets but I Like to hear your interpratation. I've heard Joe Dial and a few other coaches theories. What your guys at Bells?

Oh ya, that move! Ahhh, i could tell ya but then i'd have to kill ya. i just can't be giving the holy grail of all moves away.

I do, but its almost a mute point cause its not something really learned, its more born. Ha, your boy jumped like a stud. He jumped 16 6 from 10 steps, almost 17. Lon

The first movement after takeoff is a no-brainer: push the hands over your head, drive your lead knee, stay upright, with trail leg straight and penetrate in towards the pit before the swing starts. After all that all you have to do is bring the lead knee up to the chest, put both feet over the top of the pole while it's still bent and row your feet straight up over the top of the pole, initiate the turn, pike at the top and then throw your chest back. I might have left out a few minor details, but the technique is so simple, a child can master it in a day.
