Thanks a bunch. more details on the topic are available if anyone is more interested.

In a couple of months there will be a book available, the Illustrated Hiostory of the Pole Vault. It'll be about 270-280 pages with over 800 pictures and illustrations, plus charts and tables of records, and indexes. Sorry for the wait, but we are still in the editing process. If all goes well, it'll be available at Reno.

Are you talking about the book Jan Johnson is making??? If so, I've looked through that book a few times as Jan has been making it, and its really cool. I'll definetely be getting one!

Yes. Russ has been helping Jan with the project.

Yep. Long story short....about 4 years ago I started writing the text. I discussed the project with Jan and we agreed to be co-authors. Then we turned up the heat. I wrote about 1/2 of the text based in part on an unpublished manuscript by Ray Kring. Ray's widow, Millie, gave us permission. Jan has collected additional information, photos, and iillustrations. We've continued collaborating and working together. We decided to list all 3 of us as authors: Jan Johnson, Russ VerSteeg, and Ray Kring. Hope to have it ready soon.

Cool!!! Yeah, I've been talking to Jan a lot about the book, and whenever I see him I ask about it, and he always has me "approve" it! He did tell me that he was working with a couple of other guys on it, but I didn't realize it was you! That's great! From what I've seen, I really like the work you guys have put into it! I can't wait until it comes out!

I'd imagine that you will be able to order them through Jan's website. Not sure though, but here's his web site:

I'm pretty certain that VS Athletics will be the principal outlet for purchasing the book. I know that it will be in the next VS catalogue, and it should be on their website once it's available.
