That's called pole VAULTING, not pole bending... Imagine what he could have done if he had the technology of today and mastered the flexible pole!!!

In the first video look right after the takeoff. Doesnt it look like the pole is bending?

my coach told me that back in the day of steel poles, when running the vaulter's grip was extremely wide, becuse of the weight of the pole. then at the plant they would slide their hands together.
