So I improved more than i thought I would this year. I came in jumping 8' my previous year and I've cleared 11'6" so far this year. I've moved up three poles and now i need a longer pole. However my school has a crappy collection of poles. Right now I'm on the end of a 13' 165 and i move to fast into the pit to do a proper swing up. We have no 170 poles of any length and the only 14' poles we have are 140 (I'm 155) and a 165.
I can't afford a brand new pole and the school won't buy one for me. Does anyone know of used poles for sale or any other ways to get poles?

A 13'165 to a 14'165 is a pretty big jump, but it's not the worst series in the world. Make your run 1 stride shorter and you probably won't be blowing through the 13'165 anymore. When you blow through it from the shorter run, back up to a longer run and see if you can get on the 14'165. Don't swing on it until you are landing in the middle of the pit with no swing. Start with your grip at 13', don't just raise it a foot when you go to the longer pole.
