3/16" is what we can use, no bigger...

1/4 inch pyramids are pretty standard. Lots of tracks want no longer than that. Some indoor tracks require shorter, but outdoors you should be fine with 1/4"

Yeah it is really not that big of a deal. Go with the 1/8 and if they feel like you are slipping, try 1/4. It's not like it is terribly hard to change them.

I've got mine filed down to just a bump. I don't notice a big difference other than I'm not diggin' holes in my legs from longer spikes. Keep in mine I don't jump on wet tracks and I don't really need the speed that a spike can help provide(wouldn't matter, I'd either be a turtle or a little bit quicker turtle). I agree with the 1/8 inch comment. Try 'em see if they work ok. Most shoes that I've seen have what I'd call a soft spike around the hole for the steel one anyway. What I find beneficial about spikes is that they are lighter than a running flat. Later...Mike

o yeah i agree i filed the point off of mine due to a 2 inch gash in the side of my knee lol i almost got disqualified for bleeding all over the place but tape and band aides go a long way
