Hmmm.. Girl or Guy poles?

Alright I thought I would never find my self on these message boards but to the point ... I do not have any extraordinary power, I just finished my first season of pole vaulting (I started vaulting as a junior because I realized I wasn't the fast enough to win in Dade County so my PV coach picked me up) and I cleared 12 6 holding a 13ft pacer at about 11 4 ... Now I decided to take pole vaultin quite serious, so I ordered the new carbon pole... Now here is where I think I got tricked... I ordered a 14ft carbon pole without realizing that it was a mystic carbon pole... I talked to the guy and he said "They only make Carbon Pacer poles at 15 ft, everything under is Mystic. There are no such things as girls pole" (I think I hit a soft spot). So I thought I would give the burden to you guys ...

Is there such thing as a girl pole ?

Is there any difference besides the diameter?

There is no such thing as a "girl's pole," but make sure you don't get stuck with a left handed pole, jumping on one of those if you are right handed can be dangerous.

Of course, no matter the label, for even a 15' pole i doubt that the carbon is worth the extra cost unless you got one on closeout.

but make sure you don't get stuck with a left handed pole,

Hold up... How can I check ... I mean when I bought it, it did not say anything about left handed or right handed

They used to. They changed it to Mystic several years ago.

ok thanks i thought i was going crazy there for a second, but here is what a pole company says

"The Carbon Mystic has been designed to meet the demands of the advanced female vaulter. The integration of fiberglass and carbon fiber results in a pole that is lighter, faster, and has a smaller grip that any other women's pole."

but there is no such thing as just a "womans" pole, just lighter poles

Its the same technology, just a sales gimmick to sell more poles.
