Pole Flex Carbonfx v. UCS Spirits.......HELP

Ok this is the discussion. I have vaulted on both model of poles Carbon and UCS and understand the feeling of both. I Like them both its not big deal to go between the 2 models.

I am now making the transition between 15' 6'' Carbon 185 that has a flex of 16.1 to a series of UCS (again i dont have a problem with jumping with the two different models) 16' that consist of a
170 flex 20.5,
180 flex 18.9,
185 flex 18.5,
190 flex 16.4,
195 flex 15.7

The one thing i have noticed is that the flex numbers are completely different as they should be considering there 2 different models. I know it doesnt matter what the weight of the pole but the flex number, but in this case how do these flex numbers match to the weight of a of the 185 15' 6'' CarbonFx compared to the flex number of the 180, 185,190,195 UCS Spirit. How should we read these flex compared to the flex of the Carbon, and if we do just look at the flex does that mean i should move to the 16' 190 flex 16.4 since that is the closest flex to the Carbon 15' 6'' 185 flex 16.1?????

I hope i havent confused anyone, i just dont understand why the flex numbers are so high when they should be getting stiffer as u go up series and poles....Does the 18.5 flex on the UCS mean it is just as stiff as the Carbon's 16.1 flex on the 185....

If you add 2.1 to the flex number, you'll have a rough relative equivalent of what that pole will flex at the next 6" increment. The longer sailpiece will also make it FEEL an additional .1-.2 stiffer.

If your 15'6 CarbonFX is a 16.1, it will ROUGHLY be an 18.1-18.3 on a 16' scale. Jump on the Carbon, then jump on the 16' 185 18.5 and see how they compare. Stiffness-wise, they should be relatively close.

Never could figure out the difference in flexs on the spirit to a pacerfx...

I have a 13-6 165 pacerfx with a 17.5 flex and a spirit 13-7 165 with a 19.6 flex.......put a 50 pound weight on them at 12-6 and they measure the same in inches

Gill has different flex spans for every 6" of pole while Spirit generally does not, so your 13'6 and 14'6 Pacers are going to have way different flex numbers than your 13'7 and 14'7 Spirits.

I may be wrong, but I believe Spirit flexes 13'7 poles on a 14'1 span.

The approximate difference in flex span for every 6" in length is about 2.1cm.

If you assume your 13'7 165 flexes 19.6 on a 14'0 span, let's logically assume it would be 2.1 less, or 17.5 on a 13'7 span.

So technically, the PacerFX and Spirit would be identical in weight rating and flex. Do they feel the same?
