I read this article, and wondered if the pits had simply not expanded enough yet?

Monroe athletic director John Ray and groundskeeper Ron Complo drove to Columbus, Ohio, Thursday to pick up the Trojans' new pole vault pits. Then it was discovered the pits weren't regulation size.

"The Dearborn coach measured them and they were too narrow, so we had to give up nine points in both meets," said Monroe track and field coach Mark Scoles. "We had to start out in the hole, but our kids responded well."

I've heard of this quite a few times lately. Someone in Ohio is building knock pits and doing VERY BAD JOBS. Please try to work with the manufactures unless you have seen proof quality workmenship

cheep built, bad stiching, crapy foam, pieces don't fit together, zippers tear. just cheap manufacturing. there has just been a lot lately in the area. the new rules are helping though...
